On October 28, at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi, the inauguration ceremony of the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the opening of the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023) took place with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other dignitaries from governmental offices, research institutes and businesses. THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong attended the event and cut the inauguration ribbon.

The inauguration ceremony and exhibition, hosted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the NIC with reputable partners, was a significant milestone in the development of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem.

Construction of the Hoa Lac National Innovation Center (NIC) began in 2021 with a total cost of nearly VND1 trillion, funded by domestic and foreign businesses. The NIC has a total working floor area of nearly 20,000 square meters, 2 office blocks and 1 conference block, and is designed in the shape of an eagle taking off, symbolizing its mission to realize creative ideas, create breakthrough values, and promote innovation among businesses for further development.

In addition to building facilities, the National Innovation Center (NIC) has also developed a global Vietnamese innovation network. With 2,000 members, including prominent Vietnamese experts and intellectuals living and working in 20 countries and territories, the NIC network has 8 component networks: Germany and Japan, Australia, South Korea, Europe, Taiwan (China), and the East Coast and West Coast of the USA.

At the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the establishment and construction of the National Innovation Center (NIC), which he expects to be a key link in perfecting Vietnam's innovation and startup ecosystem and deeply connecting with the global innovation process. He also sees NIC as a place to incubate and support potential startups, technology businesses, and partners in the innovation ecosystem.

The Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition (VIIE 2023) also took place at the NIC inauguration event, running from October 28 to November 1. Nearly 300 booths at the exhibition featured innovative technology products and solutions from around the world, focusing on eight areas: smart factories, smart cities, digital communications, environmental technology, cyber security, the semiconductor industry, hydrogen, and healthcare.

THACO INDUSTRIES also participated in the exhibition, displaying and introducing new products and technology solutions in the automotive field, such as components, automatic systems, electric drive systems, and light chassis systems.

In addition to the exhibition, VIIE 2023 also offered special activities, such as specialized seminars on hydrogen, semiconductors, medical technology, games, and esports, as well as the Vietnam Venture Summit (VVS), the STEAM Festival, and the Better Choice Awards Gala.
