Since June 2023, a partnership has been established between the Vietnam Defense Industry and THACO, driving progress in crucial areas like component and spare parts production. Major General Pham Thanh Khiet, its Deputy Director, looks forward to THACO's continued active support in the future. He envisions THACO lending its expertise and resources to other defense industry enterprises, especially hoping for ongoing collaboration in researching and producing basic vehicles specifically designed for military service.

He emphasized the importance of careful preparation, ensuring that the political, legal grounds and reality are carefully considered before enacting any new policies, like the Law on Defense Industry and Promotion in Industry Activities. He believes once approved, this law can be the catalyst for a thriving and self-sufficient defense sector, one that not only protects the nation but also fuels economic growth. THACO President proposed grouping the businesses based on their level of technology innovation and involvement in defense industries, and building tailored policies to empower each group. Upholding the value-based philosophy, he affirmed that for THACO, participating and contributing to national defense and serving to protect the country is an important task.

According to the National Assembly Vice Chairman, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, the law has been capturing intense focus from National Assembly and people nationwide, especially in a world fraught with complexities. He recognized THACO's production lines have immense potential in forging the defense industry production by applying the dual-use mechanism. As the Vice Chairman pointed out, such "dual-use mechanism" is a global trend to blend economic development with national security. He then urged the National Defense and Security Committee to join forces with the Law Drafting Committee to study THACO's production prowess, crafting a plan for integrating the company's capabilities into Vietnam's defense industry, especially in automobile and mechanics.
