Protecting THACO AUTO leading position in the automobile market

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), in August, THACO AUTO continued to lead the Vietnam automobile market, accounting for 38.6% of the market shares. The month sales reached 10,146 vehicles, including 8,413 passenger cars and 1,733 specialized vehicles. Therefore, during the first 8 months of the year, THACO AUTO has sold a total of 93,347 vehicles, in which more than 87,000 units were manufactured and assembled domestically, holding nearly 40% of the market shares.

According to experts, the Vietnam automobile market is having great demands and will grow strongly in the coming time as the purchasing power did not go slow in the typical rainy August, a positive forecast for the rest of the year when consumer demands stay high.

Mazda CX-5 grows tremendously

The top 10 best-selling car models in August marked the return of Mazda CX-5. Compared to 613 units sold in July, its sales in August saw a 79.4% increase, equivalent to 1,100 units, marking the largest growth in the CUV segment, getting the Mazda CX-5 to the top position.

Kia K3 and Mazda3 dominate the C segment

In August, Mazda3 took the lead with 893 units, followed by Kia K3 with 590 units. Cumulatively, the 8-month sales of the 2 models were 6,616 vehicles and 8,520 vehicles respectively, totaling 15,136 vehicles, equivalent to 75% of market shares, two thirds of the C-sized car segment. During the first 8 months, on average, Kia K3 sold 1,065 vehicles per month while Mazda3 sold 827 vehicles, proudly taking the lead in the same segment. Kia K3 is the flagship model of KIA, in addition to Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival. At the meantime, Mazda3 and Mazda CX-5 have been making big contributions to Mazda's overall sales.

KIA – One of top 5 best-selling brands in the month

Although there are no KIA models in the top 10 best-selling cars in August, KIA is still one of the top selling brands in Vietnam, with Kia Carnival selling 832 cars in August.
